We are under protest in this class!
We have identified some problems in the world and we are ready to change the WORLD!
After reading about Martin Luther King Jr., John Lennon, and Ruby Bridges we have learned that it's possible to change the world. We were especially inspired by Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges was in first grade just like us when she changed the world by going to an all white school. She has written books and even met the president! Maybe someday books will be written about us!
Look over the protest signs made all the students in Mrs. Roach's class. If you see me, ask me about the solutions I have come up with to solve this problem.

Dear Parents,
The children have been learning about cause and effect. They are working on gaining a deeper understanding of this complex topic. In class we have been talking about having a positive effect on this Earth by helping to solve a world problem.
Whenever possible, bring up cause and effect. For example, if your child says they are hungry and eats a snack. Ask them if they are hungry afterwards. WHen they say "no, " ask them, "why?" Explain that their hunger caused them to ask for a snack. The feeling of hunger going away was the effect of the snack.
Thank you for taking the time to talk about this concept further at home!
Love,
Mrs. Roach
